Celestial Navigation Live at the 2011 Free Thinking Festival

On Friday and Saturday afternoon, NE1fm’s Celestial Navigation will be live from The Sage Gateshead, broadcasting as part of the Free Thinking Festival of Ideas 2011.

A total of three hours of special broadcasts, hosted by regular Celestial Navigation and No Excuse host Amina Evans, will address the issues of ‘inner’ and ‘outer change’, as well as featuring the contributions of individuals from the community.

The first broadcast, on Friday afternoon in the show’s usual timeslot of 4 til 6PM, Amina will be joined by “Daughters of the Tyne” Yvonne Young and Catherine Graham, as she explores the issue of ‘outer change’.

Amina’s second broadcast from The Sage Gateshead, on Saturday from 5 til 6PM, will feature the discussion of ‘inner change’. Poets AJ McKenna and Mandy Maxwell will feature on this hour-long broadcast.

The three live hours of Celestial Navigation from the Free Thinking Festival of Ideas 2011 means that NE1fm has the largest community radio presence at the event, which is also being attended by Spice FM, Radio Tyneside and Newcastle Student Radio.

More information on the festival, which will be launched by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, including how to obtain free tickets and an itinerary of events at the venue, can be found via the BBC Radio 3 website.
