NE1fm 102.5 is pleased to announce that The Three Legends football phone-in will be airing live on weekdays on NE1fm 102.5, starting Wednesday December 19th at 6PM.
Presented by Newcastle United legend Malcolm McDonald along with Micky Horswill and Bernie Slaven, the programme features two hours of unmissable football chat every weekday evening from 6 til 8PM.
The programme was a popular staple of the Tyneside radio schedule for a number of years, before controversially departing the airwaves at the end of last season. There’s been constant calls for its return ever since, which NE1fm has now answered.
NE1fm is the exclusive Tyneside broadcaster of the show, joining fellow community radio stations in locations including Hartlepool and Middlesbrough in airing the programme.
As always, the programme will feature callers, and you can get involved and air your views by calling the Legends live on (0845) 013 22 00.
As part of the introduction of The Three Legends there’s also a shake-up of the regular NE1fm schedule, and while most of our existing programmes will be airing at a new time, a couple have opted to step aside as part of the changes.
These programmes are Alternation, one of our longest-running programmes, and Interference, an electronic music programme that has aired since 2011. We hope that both can return to the NE1fm schedule in the future, and thank both for their efforts in recent years.
Among the programmes moving to new time slots are League Talk, Hit The North (East), Indie Dependent, Newcastle Beats, NE1 Irish and The Weekend Countdown. Fully updated new timings will be confirmed and available in the near future via the Schedule section of this website.
We’ll also be announcing other exciting new programming in the near future, including a weekly programme presented by two local teenage girls – Who’ll be the youngest regular broadcasters in the region – Plus other programmes presented by graduates of our Open Access Programming.
The Three Legends will launch on NE1fm live on Wednesday December 19th from 6 til 8PM, and air every weekday thereafter. You can catch the show live in the Tyneside area on 102.5 FM, or can listen worldwide via this website.
