As part of Alcohol Awareness week, we broadcasted live from venues in Byker with shows by young people and members of the community there last week.
The Baroness Newlove Fund is funding projects in the Byker area to work with young people about changing attitudes towards alcohol use, getting young people to talk about their own use and experiences too. It is also helping to find different activities to give young people an alternative to drinking.
From Monday-Wednesday we broadcasted from Byker YMCA, and Thursday & Friday came from ACANE, Raby Cross.
We are continuing to work in the Byker area until March 2014 collecting stories about life in the area, so it’s not too late to have your voice heard.
Byker Voices was live from 6pm-8pm from 18th-22nd November 2013.
