Animal Rescue Week Live – “Supervet” Noel Fitzpatrick to visit Newcastle to get us adopting!

Help the North East get their cats, dogs, and rabbits loving new homes!

Channel 4, along with ‘Blast! Films Production’ are hosting a week long live TV marathon to get the region, and the country, adopting abandoned pets and giving them a better quality of life!

Every day between August 7th – 11th, Channel 4 will be broadcasting from Newcastle’s Dog and Cat Shelter (Benton Lane, NE12 8EH) from 8pm! The programme will be hosted by the one and only ‘Supervet’ – Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, along with Steve Jones and Kate Quilton!

Britain currently has over 16 million pets, yet, every year, over 250,000 are abandoned into the care of rescue shelters such as Newcastle’s. Our shelter is committed to ensuring that all the animals are responsibly rehomed and go to loving and dedicated families. However, we need you to get adopting to help them out!

“Through raising awareness of the fun, love and hope that rehoming an animal can bring to families everywhere, I genuinely think that we speak a language of joy and compassion, and I think that this is a fantastic message to put out into the world right now.” – Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, The Supervet.

“The show offers a fantastic opportunity for our gorgeous animals to find loving homes. Rescue pets make the best pets, with individual characters and a lot of love to give.  We are all so excited to see what the programme brings and can’t wait for Noel, Steve and Kate to meet some of our amazing residents” – Leyla Rutter, Chief Executive at Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter

Anyone interested in adopting a cat, dog, or rabbit from the team throughout the event is kindly requested to book an appointment ahead of time by contacting animalrescueweek@blastfilms.co.uk or by calling 0191 266 1167.
