Classical NE1fm is a specialist classical music show, presented weekly by Rob Barnes every Sunday evening from 7 til 9PM.
The only programme of its kind on the FM spectrum in the North East, Classical NE1fm features orchestral, instrumental, choral and vocal music, dating from the Renaissance to the present day, and caters for all classical tastes and all ages.
Composers and performers are showcased each week, and special requests and dedications can be requested via e-mail to rob.barnes@ne1fm.net.
On some editions, guests join Rob in the studio, including performers, conductors and fans of the genre, to discuss the influence of music on their lives.
First broadcast in February 2012, Classical NE1fm also features the latest local classical music news and events information.
