NE1 Irish is a magazine-style programme catering for the Irish community of Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead, and is live every Wednesday from 5 til 7PM.
Sponsored by the Tyneside Irish Centre, each broadcast combines chat, interviews, and guests with a folk-themed selection of music in both recorded and live form, including acts from the local area, Ireland and further afield.
Occasional broadcasts of NE1 Irish come from outside of the NE1fm 102.5 studios at events of interest to the Irish community, and recorded content from local events features each week.
NE1 Irish is hosted by Jim Bennett, Fiona Clelland and Tommy McClements. Jim performs double duty for NE1fm 102.5 each week, also hosting Magic Music Show every Sunday from midday til 2PM.
