“Hola… We are Spanish Stereo. The first Spanish and English speaking radio show in Newcastle Upon Tyne”
Spanish Stereo is a monthly magazine show presented by native Spanish speakers in the Spanish language, live on the third Friday of each month from 2 til 4PM.
The programme features a variety of content, including Latin music, local news, sports and cultural coverage, opinion pieces and information about the Ibero-American states.
Spanish Stereo is a meeting point for the Hispanic community of Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead, encouraging the integration and participation of all people that love the Spanish language and enjoy Latino culture.
Spanish Stereo is presented monthly by the team of Angelica Chara, Beatriz Garcia and Berta Matilló.
The programme initially debuted on NE1fm 102.5 as part of the Open Access Programming in February 2012, before debuting in its regular time slot in April.
It is the only non-English language broadcast on NE1fm 102.5 to not feature in the weekly ethnic band of programming, to cater for its small but nonetheless present demographic in the area.
