Virginia House is the home of NE1fm 102.5, and is where all of our live studio programming is produced and broadcast from, as well as being the home of our general administration.
Located a short distance from Newcastle city centre, the building has acted as our home since our relocation from our original studio in the Shieldfield area of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2009.

Where to Find Us
Virginia House is located on Georges Road, and can be easily accessed by car from Westmorland Road, a main road running from the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne.

We’re also easily accessible by train and Tyne and Wear Metro, as well as by a number of bus routes. Buses stopping on both Westmorland Road and Scotswood Road (see the map above) include the Stagecoach services 1 and 22 and Go North East services 11 and 32.
The closest Tyne and Wear Metro and rail access is from Central Station (Newcastle railway station), from which the above map can be referenced for further directions.
Please note, if you are travelling to NE1fm 102.5 by car, that there is limited parking is available at Virginia House, and as such it should not be relied upon. There is, however, parking available on Georges Road, just outside of the grounds of the building, and parking is usually available there at all times.
NE1fm 102.5 has two broadcast studios. Studio 1 is most commonly used for live broadcast, with Studio 2 used less frequently, and predominantly for disabled access and pre-recorded content production.
Studio 1 features a Soundcraft Series 15 console, along with four microphone channels, two CD channels, two PC playout channels, one Minidisc input channel, one auxillary and satellite input channel, and two telephone channels. Besides from the console, Studio 1 is also equipped with two Denon DC-C630 CD players, one Sony MDS-E12 Minidisc player and recorder, a pair of Technics 1210 MK2 turntables linked to a Behringer DX 500 studio mixer, and for listening to our output a pair of Denon SCCX303 CX3 speakers.
Studio 2 features a Clyde Broadcast Synergy console, a digital desk, with the inputs available including two microphone channels, two CD channels, four PC playout channels, two auxillary and satellite input channels, and an recording studio input for live bands. Our second studio also features two Tascam CD-01U CD players and one Sony MDS-E12 Minidisc player and recorder.
Virginia House is also equipped with a recording room suitable for live bands, and amenities including a gym. NE1fm also has an office, used for general administrative purposes and meetings.
